- The vast jungle area that is now the Gatun Lake was full of wildlife. As the region was flooded, animals took refuge in the mountains that are now islands. You will slowly cruise the back channels, islands and bays that make up this unique system.
- Exotic birds, capuchin monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and crocodiles are just a few of the animals that you will see. In the Gatun area you will also have the experience to go through a mile-long tract of humid forest that lies within the Rainforest boundaries. The tram ascends 280 feet over half a mile and ends on a top of a hill.
- From the observation tower you’ll get great views of the Canal and the Chagres River, as well as the surrounding forested areas of Soberania National Park. After this, visit the flora and fauna exhibitions, shelter of native species, which include a sloth sanctuary.

- Meet the keepers of the Panamanian rainforest, the Emberá tribe, who share their vivid culture warmly and openly. Travel by motor coach to the Chagres National Park, and then onward by traditional dugout canoes to the Emberá Village, where you will be welcomed by the Chief and treated to some ceremonial dancing.
- Most Emberá live in round huts on stilts with extended family; peek inside and share a typical lunch of fish and plantains.
- The Emberá wear little clothing, but paint elaborate patterns on their bodies using the black dye of the jagua plant. You might even be invited to have one of these temporary tattoos painted on your skin. You will also have the chance to see Emberá craftspeople at work and buy perfectly coiled baskets, bright uhua sarongs, instruments, or jewelry.
